What is monke.gg?

monke.gg is a tool that allows you to look up information about characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate when fighting as Donkey Kong.

What are pDKO, gDKO, aDKO, etc?

DKO, also known as Ding Dong, is Donkey Kong's iconic kill confirm where you grab, cargo up throw, and up air to kill. These are the variations:

p (platform) DKO: Cargo carry opponent to a platform → cargo up throw right before you land → jump → double jump → up air
g (grounded) DKO: Cargo → cargo up throw from the ground → jump → double jump → up air
a (aerial) DKO: Cargo → jump → rising cargo up throw → double jump → up air

How does rage affect DKO?

When looking up percents, it is important to factor in how rage shrinks DKO ranges. The general rule of thumb is below: (these are rough estimates)

Your PercentWindow Minimum
50%-2%
100%-8%
150%-15%

For example, if you are fighting Link, who has a pDKO window of 73 - 83, and you have 50% rage, you can pDKO as early as 71%. For the maximums, there is no general rule of thumb since it is on a per-character basis.

How does staling affect DKO?

This raises the window, but also widens it. E.g. for Bayonetta, one staled cargo up throw would change her range from 61-74 to ~64-80. The first use of cargo up throw and/or Uair stales the most, due to removing freshness bonus. For a technical explanation: Staling reduces the total knockback by a given %. Higher percent (health) means more total knockback, which means the staling cuts off a bigger raw value for maximums compared to minimums.

What do the brackets [] mean?

The number located in the brackets [] is an even lower minimum percent that you can kill at via an advanced DK tech known as "optimized pDKO". This is performed by tossing an opponent at the peak of your jump. This allows you to achieve slightly earlier kills for the obvious reason that your opponent is released at a higher point, and is thus closer to the top blast zone. Here is an example of DKwill performing an optimized pDKO.

What do the blue numbers mean?

pDKO percent ranges can change slightly depending on what height the platforms are, and how tall the stage blastzone is. When you input a stage into the calculator, these changes will be reflected by the blue numbers. This number will be based on the base PS2 percents. For example. Donkey Kong's range on Pokémon Stadium 2 is 84 - 95. On Small Battlefield, the platforms add +2 to the minimum, so the new percent range is 86 - 95.
